Van Cleef & Arpels just launched a new season of Alhambra series, still with the iconic "Lucky Clover" as the theme element. The new work not only uses gem materials such as blue chalcedony, blue agate, and gray mother-of-pearl, but also incorporates the "Guilloché" process to create a fresh and shiny gorgeous effect.
The "Alhambra" series was born in 1968. The unique four-leaf clover pattern is derived from the brick wall pattern of the Alhambra Palace in Spain. This talisman-like totem has gradually expanded from the early long necklaces to earrings, ring between the fingers, jewelry watches, etc. The gem setting and jewelry craftsmanship have become increasingly diverse, becoming the most representative design of Van Cleef & Arpels.
This new work consists of 6 pieces in total, of which 3 long Magic Alhambra necklaces are paired with exquisite gemstone pendants-chalcedony is light blue with natural banded patterns on the surface; blue agate shows the azure blue of the lake , The color is bright and eye-catching; the gray mother-of-pearl has a soft silver-gray tone, and it presents a gentle iridescent under the light.
The Magic Alhambra long necklace has a variety of ways to wear it. It can be adjusted to a short double circle necklace, wound into a bracelet, or hang the pendant on the back for different occasions.
Another three new works use the "guilloche" technique to present the four-leaf clover pattern, and the three-dimensional cut surface makes the gold shine like a gem. The center of the four-leaf clover is a round golden bead; the outer circle is extended with a radial guilloche pattern, showing the effect of changing light and shadow; the edge is inlaid with a ball to create a sparkling and delicate visual effect.
